Is CYIA 2020 canceled?
At this time we are NOT canceling CYIA 2020. We do not yet know if it will be our traditional format or some sort of modified arrangement, but our desire to train teens to effectively communicate the Gospel to children is as strong as ever. Our encouragement to you is to register for CYIA through Connect as normal so we can know exactly who we need to communicate with about the plan and any changes. Thank you for your patience in this unusual time.
What is Christian Youth in Action®?
Christian Youth in Action® is a year-round program for teens, college students, and young adults. It all starts at camp each summer. This is an opportunity to learn and put into practice effective teaching techniques and evangelistic tools used to reach children with the gospel of Christ. You will experience the thrill of being a soul winner as well as becoming a better teacher and Christian service worker.
Why should your teenager go?
Teenagers that have completed their 6th-grade year are encouraged to attend camp. At this training camp, you will receive materials to help you teach children wherever you go! Most of our trained campers serve in churches working with the children’s ministry, they proclaim God’s truths in Good News Clubs in the public schools and also serve in training other teenagers throughout the state. Our small groups for studying, practicing, and actually doing the ministry provide you opportunities to partner and fellowship with teenagers from all over Alaska!
Where is CYIA Camp located?
Our camps are operated by CEF of Alaska in several locations, intended to reach more children for Christ. All of our camps focus on training local teens and those from surrounding areas. Our 2020 CYIA camps will be held in Soldotna, Anchorage, and Nenana.
